Gordon pulls the race car out to get petrol and ready it for scrutineering.



Scrutineering is in Le Mans' town square. What a blast it was to drive the car with its open pipes into town and through the streets, with its multi-floored stone buildings. That is a sound I'll always remember.

We get to scrutineering just as the scrutineers break for lunch so there's plenty of time to chat. Julian Balme (L) is a member of the Tiger community and races a Falcon as well as his Tiger. Sam Smart has a GT350 which he races. Sam's lovely wife, Linzi, is a photographer and is responsible for some of the images herein.

Note Keith Hampson's lovely Sebring Alpine, wearing race number 29, parked in the background. It has already passed scrutineering and will compete in the Classic.
